Clarify Expectations for Hired Care by Using Task List
Dear Carol: I’m married with teenage kids and work full-time. Until recently, I’ve felt I could also support my 83-year-old mom’s care, but her needs are, quite naturally, increasing. After many conversations, she’s finally consented to having some in-home help. Through a friend, I’ve found what seems like a reliable agency, but I’d like an organized way to let the agency caregivers know what should be done. I’ll be at mom’s at least twice a week, so it’s not like I’ll be absent, but my work has trained me that everyone knowing what’s expected is a good idea. I’m hoping for something flexible since not every day or week will be the same. Is there a guide that I could print out and customize for tasks? – LS
