Cognitive Decline After Illness Common, but Check Medications, Too
Dear Carol: Until about six months ago, my mom, 93, was as cognitively sharp as ever. Unfortunately, she was hospitalized for several days for flu. While she’s recovered physically, she’s mentally foggy, which frustrates us both. She has new prescriptions, which we wonder about. One is for a sinus issue another is for sleep. We scheduled a checkup with her new doctor about this, but do you have suggestions for how we can prepare for her appointment? Thanks for your help. – LW
