Dear Readers: Discussing our older parents’ financial situation can be difficult and fraught with emotion on both sides, yet it’s a vital part of planning as people age. Ideally, these conversations will happen long before there is concern about cognitive function thus enabling the aging adult to continue to be a partner in their own financial planning.
