Vision Changes with Dementia Amplify Brain Challenges
Dear Carol: My mom has mid-stage dementia and she’s been picking in the air in front of her at something only she sees. Also, when I guide her with her walker, she’ll freeze to a stop at thresholds and refuse to move, at times saying that there’s a hole there. I’ve read about vision changes with dementia. Could you explain what’s happening in clear language? I feel so sorry for her because she seems stressed and at times frightened when everything seems normal to me.
