Physical Changes Make Incontinence a Common Concern as People Age
Dear Carol: I’m writing because I want to help my husband, who had surgery for prostate cancer, understand that he’s not alone with his incontinence issues. I’ve pointed out that I’ve had bladder leaks for years and need a light pad to catch drips, but he says that’s from having babies and he doesn’t have that excuse. Even though I tell him the surgery probably saved his life, he’s depressed by the result. I love him and want to return to enjoying our retirement, even if it means packing incontinence products. How can I help him get into a better frame of mind? – DB
