Fall Prevention Week Perfect Time for Older Adults to Evaluate Risks
Dear Carol: My mom is reasonably healthy but she’s sedentary. It frustrates me that she ignores the fact that a bad fall could change her life. She’s 73, smart, and seems to think straight about most things. Yet, when I mention fall risks, she gets irritated and says she’s not going to fall. She tells her doctor she hasn’t had any falls (true) and that’s that. Are there resources that you can point me to about fall prevention? Thanks ahead of time. – SL
