Solo Agers: Adults Without Close Kin Seek Outside Resources to Manage Future Care

Dear Carol: I’m a 73-year-old widower with no children or close relatives. I’m still healthy, but to be prudent, I need to investigate resources that can guide me toward appropriate services for my later years and eventual death. I’m financially comfortable but not wealthy. I will need to assign someone as Power of Attorney to carry out the legal work. I’m also realistic about a possible need for assistance as I move toward my 80s and beyond.
